A tribute to David Leslie and Richard Lloyd took place at Rockingham on Sunday 13th April.
As the drivers took their places on the grid for the 1st race of the day, they stepped from their cars, to pay tribute to David and Richard.
Rockingham shook with the applause and cheers from everyone at Rockingham, celebrating the lives of David And Richard, who recently lost their lives in a fatal plane crash.
The 2nd meeting of the BTCC season took place at Rockingham. Jason was starting the 1st race 19th on the grid. Jason came 14th in the 1st race, with the race winner being Gordon Shedden in his Honda Civic, followed by Darren Turner in the Seat Leon Tdi and in 3rd Matt Neal in the Vauxhall Vectra.
The 2nd race of the day saw Jason take 14th yet again. Race winner was Matt Jackson in his BMW, followed by Fabriozo Giovanardi in the Vauxhall Vectra and in 3rd was Darren Turner in the Seat Leon Tdi.
The 3rd race started with cloud hanging over Rockingham and the prospect of rain was looming. Only a handful of cars took to the grid with wet tyres on, and then the heavens opened. The race was delayed to allow a tyre change, as to avoid chaos on the track. Jason was given a 30 second penalty for making adjustments on the grid, this saw him place 15th, with 8 drivers not completing. The winner was Matt Neal in the Vectra, in 2nd was Tom Chilton in his Honda Civic, and in 3rd place Adam Jones in his Seat Leon.
A good day for vauxhall, Honda and Seat.
Next meeting is at Donington. Printer friendly Timetable for 4th May 2008 available, follow link to Donington on events page.
Jason will be using the MG at Donington on Sunday 4th May 2008.
